The tough-talking President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte is now one of the "Top 100 most powerful person". The rank is no bull because he gained a massive support on his war on drugs back home.

Data and Misdirection by the media

The international mainstream media, with the collaboration of the local yellow media,  are focusing on the 5000+ killed on the alleged Extra-Judicial Killings (EJK) without solid proof.

But stats show how he reduced drug cartels, increase drug prices due to high demand but low supply, and he also helped reduce homicide in the Philippines when he headed a ‘special task force’ under the Arroyo Administration when he was still Mayor of Davao City.

If the Arroyo administration had curved down the number of homicide on its era with the help of Rodrigo Duterte, then imagine what would it be today now that he is President of the Philippines. In fact, the crime rate has reduced to 31 percent by July alone.

In 2018, the WEF also noted that the country's safety improved over the year, with scores in indicators including organized crime, homicide rate and incidence of corruption rising. It ranked 21st in social capital according to Nikkei.

Filipinos today feel safer under the Duterte administration, with Filipinos supporting his war on drugs—where drug addicts contribute to 80 percent of heinous crimes in the country—imagine the crackdown on both crime and drugs in his administration. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.

The numbers say it is progressing

In just 5 months of Duterte administration, he managed to:
  1. have 38,913 number of anti-illegal drugs operations,
  2. arrest 40,932 drug personalities,
  3. made 908, 244 drug users surrender under Oplan Tokhang,
  4. and seized  5.4 billion worth of drugs (in the first two months)
In a year, former President Benigno Aquino III managed to seize 5.42 billion worth of drugs, which is just two months under the Duterte administration.

Duterte did it before, he can definitely do it again. And so he did if we let stats speak for itself.
