I’m all for the war on fake news, but seeing the news today disappoints me, as much as it helps combat ignorance among social media users, there is a hidden agenda on Facebook’s fact-checker tool.
Why?
The donors
Okay, I repeat, I celebrate the move to censor fake news, but my spider senses are tingling when I read about the donors for Facebook’s fact-checking tool in the news.
George Soros is a billionaire of Open Society Foundation who donated $25 million to Clinton and tried to block George W. Bush’s campaign for Presidency before. With the news that ‘fake news helped Trump win’ is a sure thing why he donated for a cause. But I beg to disagree, so they’re saying Americans are stupid to be fooled by various fake news on the internet?
Next Facebook’s fact-checker donor is Alberto Ibarguen, who is also a Clinton donor.
Another Clinton donor will be familiar to some Filipinos, he is Pierre Omidyar, founder of eBay and is still one of its board of directors. Pierre is also a financier of Rappler, whose CEO is Maria Ressa, whom we know as a Pro-American and Anti-Duterte journalist, capable of fooling the Filipino people with her ‘Duterte trolls and bots conspiracy’ that has been debunked.
Pierre Omidyar co-funded Ukraine Revolution with the US government, he is a fan of Obama and Clinton. He’s an american version of a yellowtard.
Rappler’s Maria Ressa plus Pierre Omidyar is a perfect combination to discredit the Duterte administration and eliminate alternative media. We already know how biased Rappler is so I don’t need to explain it further.
The Facebook fact-checker tool is a celebration for the people who hate alternative media as it is one of the reasons why underdogs win the Election, yes, both Trump and Duterte are considered as underdogs since they’re not that typical politician who appears in the national elections. Alternative media has been a tool used by people disappointed in the failures and biases of mainstream media.
And it seems like, the tool is used to curb down alternative media.
What if I’m right?

- ThinkingPinoy
- Sass Rogando Sassot
- Mocha Uson Blog, whom Maria Ressa hates the most because she (Mocha) surpassed mainstream media engagements on the internet
So, my hunch on the fact-checkers hidden agenda will be true if and only if:
- ThinkingPinoy and Sass Rogando Sasot will be flagged as ‘fake news’ entities although they cite from credible sources. Yes, the yellows will abuse the tool to censor the people that gave them a headache for speaking with wit and truth.
Truth be told, from the three examples I cited above, only Mocha Uson Blog will fall into the category of ‘fake news’ since she had a history of spreading fake news. But if ThinkingPinoy and Sass will lecture her about the issue, then she will be a very powerful tool against the yellows because of engagements. As long as she will side entirely with the truth, she will be safe from Facebook’s fact-checking tool.

The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has been fighting for free internet for everyone. But his company has been surrounded with controversies over the alleged privacy violations. Now he is building a ‘fact-checking tool’ whose prime donors are Clinton and Obama supporters.
We already discussed the connections of Clinton and Obama supporters to the Liberal Party folks in the Philippines.
What’s next?
We wait.. I hope I am wrong about the tool’s hidden agenda. I love to be wrong sometimes. But let us not sleep with both our eyes closed, if the mainstream media were able to dominate and control the TV, let us work together for them not to dominate the internet as well.
Mark Zuckerberg has been working for internet domination with his Internet.org and takeover of apps such as Skype (Video Call for Facebook), Instagram (Just look at the Messenger’s changes), Twitter and so on.
And by the time Zuckerberg’s company dominates, it will be able to control the internet— with its ‘censoring alternative news’ tool cloaked in a term ‘Facebook fact-checker’—I bet it will be an Armageddon for free speech.
He has done it before, he might do it again. I hope I am wrong.
