Socrates Villegas failed to practice his preachings

If there’s one verse in the Bible that describes Archbishop Socrates Villegas, it would be this:
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” Matthew 7:15
I am not a priest, I did not study theology, but I guess my years in reading the Bible myself has been fruitful than these wolves.

The hypocrisy and the stupidity

Archbishop Socrates Villegas recent ‘blessing on the Anti-Marcos burial’ has gone way beyond his supposed way of living – to be Christ-like in the things he says and do.

As much as he has the right to freely state his opinion, it shouldn’t contradict what he preaches in the Church on Sundays.

Here is what he failed to recognize in the Marcos Burial:
  1. Those who fail to forgive someone will never be forgiven by the Heavenly Father;
  2. That we must not hold bitterness and grudges in our hearts;
  3. Love your enemy and pray to those who persecute you;
  4. and by loving our enemies, we must not keep a record of the wrong things he did;
And by promoting the Anti-Marcos burial, he is planting hate on every people, especially to his beloved followers. Little he knows the reason we Filipinos are divided is that of hate, not because of what President Duterte did. And as the Bible states:
Proverbs 10:12  “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.”

Meddling with Political issues

In Jesus’ time, the Romans were at the height of its power, they were known to be abusive, they are the reason why Jesus Christ was crucified, they saw him as a threat, along with the Pharisees who merged themselves with Roman politics. Sounds familiar?

The Pharisees who work with the Romans to persecute Jesus Christ is no different from Archbishop Socrates Villegas.  Years of studying theology, how could he miss it?

Well, here is one thing, Soc Villegas is nothing but a follower of the Liberal Party, the same politics responsible for the Mamasapano Massacre and Hacienda Luisita Massacre which is also a human rights violation.

The CBCP President is noisy about Martial Law abuses but quiet with the abuses of priests on children. This hypocrite of a priest belongs to the world of politics, not in the Church.

The priests are supposed to be neutral when it comes to politics, they should not engage in political activities, ousting a president included. They failed to read or maybe they just chose to ignore the writings in Romans 13:1 :
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
So if God established all the governments and world leaders in the world, why do they not respect it?
Romans 13:2 states “Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”
Instead, they believe in a man-made phrase, “The voice of the people is the voice of God. (Vox Populi, Vox Dei)”

Soc Villegas along with his supporters ignore the higher calling

Soc Villegas is an example of a student who did not listen to his teacher. Aside from ignoring Christ’s teaching, the statement of the Pope Francis about forgiveness fell to his deaf ears.

All I can say is, Archbishop Socrates Villegas is a hypocrite or most probably paid by the yellows. Yes, a person cannot serve God and money at the same time. Since Soc Villegas failed to preach God’s teaching, he is obviously not a servant of God, so maybe a servant of Yellow politics or money.

We can’t force people to forget what Marcos did, but at least let us forgive him. You are fighting over a corpse who is not conscious of what is happening outside, it is like talking to the wall. But for the priests, they should go back and study theology or just quit if they can’t keep up.

As a Catholic, I am utterly disappointed.
