Sen. Leila de Lima should be put to jail immediately

Senator Leila de Lima was a former DOJ Secretary of President Benigno Aquino III who is now in controversy after her alleged involvement in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) drug trade and her illicit affairs with married men.

But as usual, the justice is slow in the Philippines, if this happened in South Korea, she should have been in jail already, but that’s not the case.

Where it all started

The Senator Leila de Lima ‘conspiracy’ has been the word of mouth circulating in the internet since the spread of Discovery Channel’s “Inside the Gangster’s Code” video documentary where Leila de Lima, DOJ Secretary that time, had a picture with an alleged ‘drug lord’ and Gang leader of NBP Jaybee Sebastian.

The video spread like wildfire that supporters of Leila de Lima shrunk in numbers, the evidence lies in the 2016 Election results, where she almost did not secure the 12th spot for being a Senator.

Her tough-talking stint, as if similar to late Miriam Santiago, died out when conspiracies began to emerged on her candidacy.

The weight of evidence is as ‘heavy as she is’

Forgive my words, but that is how I describe the weight of evidence against her.

Now, 12 personalities from NBP testified against her, presenting affidavits on her alleged involvement on the NBP Drug trade. A month passed, alleged lovers of the senator emerged and testified against her as well.

Still, due to the ‘lack of evidence’, Senator Leila de Lima still freely walks and talks with the media about the Duterte administration trying to pin her down. The NBP Drug trade and scandals are enough evidence that then DOJ Leila de Lima was accountable for. It was her duty to keep NBP clean from malice, but years with the Aquino regime and the drugs,  beers, concerts, and women were still rampant inside New Bilibid Prison. [Inq]

A drug lord and her lover for seven (7) years emerged

An alleged Drug Lord from the Visayas, Kerwin Espinosa arrived in the Philippines after his father, Mayor Espinosa of Albuera, Leyte, was ‘murdered’ inside his prison cell. The officers ‘involved’ in the killing of the Mayor were immediately relieved by PNP Chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa. [Star]

Aside from Kerwin, a star witness that will testify against De Lima is her former lover (for 7 years) and ex-bodyguard Ronnie Dayan. Sen. De Lima already admitted about her affair with a married man Ronnie Dayan that will strengthen the disbarment case against her. The admission of an illicit affair was timely since a few days later, Ronnie Dayan was caught and arrested by the PNP. 

‘Inconsistencies do not negate a testimony’

Memes have circulated online about a ‘failed script’ by Dayan and Kerwin on their different statements on how many times and what year did Kerwin gave Dayan bag money for Senator De Lima. They claim that DOJ Secretary Aguirre gave the two scripts that ‘failed miserably’.

But, according to a Facebook post by Atty. Bruce Rivera, I quote:

“Under the law, inconsistencies do not negate a testimony especially if it is not on a material point and human perceptions are in play. In fact, if the testimonies are too perfect, it becomes suspicious.

The number of times money was given can be disregarded whether four or five times because human perception is fallible and people can make mistakes.”

True, but what matters is that there were transactions between Ronnie Dayan and Kerwin Espinosa right?

If it is true that De Lima had nothing to do with Dayan’s transactions with Ronnie Dayan, then why were her lover and ex-security aide able to do those transactions under her watch? Dayan claimed the Senator gave him 2 Million pesos for the construction of his ‘white house’ in Pangasinan. And he also claimed they even sleep there together!

Aside from disbarment case, the Senator may also be charged with obstruction of justice for telling his ex-boyfriend Ronnie Dayan to hide and to not show up on the house prob initiated by the Senate, that is, according to the message she exchanged with Dayan’s daughter.

Them ‘sex videos’

Sandra Cam, a former ‘jueteng’ whistleblower now one of the archenemies of Sen. De Lima says that she has three three (3) alleged sex videos of the senator. Many senators, especially from the Liberal Party side, discourages the House of Representative about its plans on showing the alleged video scandal of De Lima.

Here’s the catch, Sen. De Lima has an alleged affair with three persons, namely: Ronnie Dayan, Joenel Sanchez, and Warren Cristobal. Let me borrow ThinkingPinoy’s line, “Ohh Ronnie.. you’re a very.. very.. bad boy”.

An alleged scandal and adultery are enough evidence for Senator Leila de Lima to be disbarred.

To end this article, let me quote Senator Richard ‘Dick’ Gordon:
